Visas for Groups

This is in response to your request to make an appointment for a group to come in for visa interviews at the U.S. Embassy in Suva.

In order to qualify as a group, the group organizer must provide detailed information concerning the group prior to the individuals’ interviews.   Groups going to high school reunions, family reunions, or other kinds of family/school festivities will not be considered a group.   In general, groups are only performing groups and athletic teams whose expenses are being paid by the government or by a sponsoring organization.  In addition, the group sponsor should be aware that every member of the group still needs to follow the instructions on our website for making individual appointments (see How to Apply page), and every member must still qualify for the respective visa individually.

If you believe your organization qualifies as a group, please email the following information, and we will contact you concerning your request:

1.  Provide background information on the group, including information about the group’s purpose and when the group was formed.

2.  What is the purpose of the trip to the U.S.?  Provide a detailed itinerary of the trip.

3.  Provide contact information for the government or other organization sponsoring the trip.  Please give us the name of the person and a telephone number.

4.  Who is paying for the trip and for expenses in the United States?  You will need to provide proof of the sponsor’s ability to pay (bank statement) with all the group information. 

5.  Provide the local organizer’s/lead’s contact information, including a telephone number.

6.  Provide a complete list of group members with the date of birth of each person.  The list should include ALL members of the group on one list.

7.  Sign up for interviews via the website at http://suva.usembassy.gov.  Ensure the information required under numbers 1-6 are received by the consular section at least one week before the first interview is scheduled.

Once you have provided ALL of the above information, we will determine if your organization qualifies as a group.  Please note, all group members must still qualify for a visa individually according to U.S. law.  Thank you.
