Out of District Applicant

Alien Who is Physically Present But Not Resident in A Consular District:

An applicant who is from an Out of District country other than Fiji/Tuvalu/Nauru/Kiribati/Tonga can apply for nonimmigrant visa at the U.S. Embassy-Suva only if he/she is physically present in our Consular District, regardless of whether they are resident there or not.  An applicant must be advised that he/she must schedule an interview appointment on the Nonimmigrant Visa Automated Appointment System.

Applicants for a nonimmigrant visa must satisfy the consular officer that they are qualified for that type of visa by meeting all the requirements of the visa classification.  An Applicant must demonstrate his/her strong economic/financial/family and social ties to his/her country of residence.  It may be more difficult to establish visa eligibility if one applies out of his/her country of residence.
